Life on the road is fab...

Chicken travels

So this page is just daft... my little squashy rubber chicken has traveled a few places in its time, so I thought I'd record it here!!

Say hi to Chicken
Chicken says hi back!!

So a little history... the Chicken started out as a gift from my nephews, George & David, they promptly abused it cos it does kinda warrant that... its a really weird rubber that stretches & lays a rubber egg when you squeeze it... the boys thought this was fab & promptly bit the egg & sprayed the gooey inside all over my van!!

Damaged egg & all I took the Chicken with when where ever I worked, starting in Corsica... in fact we climbed a lovely peak called the Tafanatu, well worth a visit!!

Now the very observant will notice the chicken in Corsica is not the same as the chicken above... err must own up here, I left that one on that peak, completely forgot about it after we took the picture!! oops... devastated when I realised, so went out & bought another one... not quite as gooey as the original but it's close...

Anyhow... the 'new' chicken has now done a few miles & is looking a bit haggard & grubby around the edges but still has plenty of travel left in it!!

So guess whose gonna bike the TAT trail with me too!! :-)

19th March 2014 - The Chicken goes camping...
So to my knowledge this is the first time the Chicken has camped in the Northern Hemisphere... err Antarctica doesn't count really does it?? So anyway, Langdale was the venue.. to be precise it was a National Trust campsite, so toilets with loo roll, drying rooms & good pub nearby etc... you know break it in gently & all that!! ;-)
Chicken also managed to choose a really good muddy green lane for the debut playtime... this is a very spoilt Chicken!!

Plus I introduced Chicken to Geoff, that was an interesting conversation...

This Chicken really does have a charmed life!!

Chicken has been a little busy lately, he's managed to hitch a ride on our bike trip around Cumbria last weekend, get upto Hartside for a cuppa & generally have a whale of a time!

Here's a few piccies of his fun...

Chicken gave me a bit of help too as I had 18 roll maps to create for the TAT trip, they come in flat packed strips, with all the maps printed on them, you have to tape the strips together into one long length, then cut them up about every 150 miles worth of info so you can roll them onto the roll chart holder... it takes a bit of time to work out how to do all of this, so with the fire lit, a beer on the table & some scissors, cellotape & the chicken for company I took a couple of nights to get this all done. Ace another step done in the preparation for the trip!

roll map central!!

all the TAT maps ready now...
So both the Chicken & I are off to Nepal for a month now throughout April to take 7 clients up Mera Peak in the Hinku Valley. Should be a bit of fun & hopefully Chicken will bag another summit for himself & I'll get the piccies so he can tell you all about it here! :-) (Oops I forgot to pack him, so no piccies... bugger... next time maybe)...

Talk to you all soon!!

June 2014
The Chicken has gone Stateside for most of the summer, he's travelling with me, playing hide & seek, meeting up with new travelling chickens & generally having a laugh...

Meet the Doof Clenas bike club chickens, all very well travelled & good for some fun.... hanging around with Harley riders all over the US... they get to go to BBQ's, parties, bike rides etc all the time... My chicken was having envy moments...

Hey ho, Chicken has also been to Washington DC, sightseeing though so he's not doing too bad really...

He's been a busy little rubber chicken...
